I am seriously working on this new concept. My target is to find and finalyze 5 fresh like-minded producers to work with me. Already the discussions are going on. Let the Aashadham go, I will get a clear idea about the outcome of all these discussions. But I can say, all discussions are much encouraging.

The Road to Success

July 16, 2008

I love this quote so much……
that in honor of Coach Morse…… I am quoting him.

“The road to Success is engineered with Careful Planning,
constructed with Diligence, paved with Consistency,
and sealed with a burning Desire to Win!”
 - Coach Morse

Recently I signed for a corporate company from Mumbai, to work for them as Writer-Director for 3 films in all Indian languages. It’s, I think, is a great opportunity for me. I am already completed one script. The film will have bigger starcast and techs compared to my earlier films. I think, it will go on to the sets by the end of this year.

I would like to utilize this gap to make a couple of small budget movies. The satellite rights boom for the small films is so infectiuous! Infact I am planning for a series of small budget films. I am in search of like-minded investers who can understand the real filmy business and support me.

Dare to Dream!

May 15, 2008

“Dream is not that what you see in sleep. Dream is the thing which does not allow you to sleep!”

What a wonderful quotation! A few days ago one my friend from Chandigarh sms’ed me this. Thanks Amol!

I signed 3 films for a corporate company from Mumbai. I was given choice to make one film in Hindi too. Great feeling. I would love to start another small film in the gap, before starting Mumbai projects.

The Law of Attraction

March 13, 2008

“Whatever the mind of man can concieve and believe, it can achieve.”
- Napoleon Hill

The Law of Attraction is the latest passionate subject I am really attracted to! What a wonderful subject… Mind blowing. ..

If you think logically in a superficial level, it’s just trash and unbelievable. But when you really think, it’s simply awesome!

Just now I wrote an email to a famous Spiritual Guru. Its an unusual email as far as my attitude is concerned. But I took liberty to wrote him that way. It’s not intentonal but intuitive. Something deep within me inspired to take that action!

I still can’t believe…

My Musts, Once Again…

October 10, 2007

“The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in.”
- Morrie Schwartz

***

I have the power to do things I never dreamed possible.
This power became available to me
As soon as I changed my beliefs.
If I did all the things I’m capable of doing,
I would literally amaze myself.

I know what I am today,
I know what I’ll become tomorrow.
I look at things as I want them to be,
And then make those things happen.

I know what I can do if I try.
I can do anything I wish to do,
Have anything I wish to have,
Be anything I wish to be.
I never say never.

Now my Wishes are my Musts…

On the Fast Track

October 1, 2007

“To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.”
- Joseph Chilton Pearce

***

I am quite busy with my story sittings for my next film. It’s going to a bigger project when comparewd to my earlier two films. Once I complete the script work perfectly, I plan to approach the main starcast.

The very happy news is – I have now another project proposal on hand! For that also I am working simultaneously.

This time, I am following the Law of Least Effort. Thanks a lot, Deepak Chopra!

Back to Sittings

September 27, 2007

“Cinema should make you forget you are sitting in a theatre.”
- Roman Polanski

Back to sittings and studios again. After a gap of 5 months, I am back again with a new and comparatively big project on hand. I learnt a lot from my earlier two films. This time I won’t do the same mistakes again. No more compromisation and no more foolish risks.

The very important lesson I learnt through my earlier two films is: ‘don’t go for freshers alone when you are week promotion side’. Another lesson: ‘don’t start a movie believing false promises from people’.

Also, this time I firmly decided not to take any ‘name sake’ members into my team. Business is business.

No Buyers for Small Films in Tollywood!

May 20, 2007

cicil b. demille
Creativity is a drug I cannot live without.
***
We are witnessing a rapidly expanding movie market that, to be sure, provides product not only for the regular theatres but also for the numerous multiplexes springing up all over the country and the growing market for Telugu films overseas as well.
Consequently interest in filmmaking has never been stronger. You may be among the many talented, skilled artists or technicians who need only that one break to get foothold in the movie industry. It’s an ever green process of efforts. Not a big issue. As an aspiring or upcoming producer or director, some of you may be ready to get a project off the ground and onto screen. This is the big thing. You people have to face so many challenges that involve lots of money. This is coz of the present chaotic situation in the marketing side of Telugu industry.

Except for the half a dozen branded and established heroes and directors, there are no buyers for others films. You just have to make your passionate film, get the first copy and shelve it.

I can’t dare to say that all the low budget or small films made in Telugu are under-quality or just trash. Then what’s preventing the buyers to encourage small films? It’s a well known fact that film business is a creative gambling and it involves heavy risk.  The buyers are dare enough to loose crores of rupees in this gambling for the so called star films, but not passionate enough to loose a fraction of that money (only few lacs!) for the small films! That’s the irony.

The first and foremost problem they push forward is the non-availability of theatres for small films. This is coz of syndication or leasing monopoly or whatever. As per my knowledge goes, this problem is with twin cities only and limited to the main centers like cross roads in Hyderabad. If we change our thinking, it won’t be a problem at all. These days every centre is a main centre in twin cities. Once the film clicks, no body can stop it whether it’s a big film or small film. Then you’ll have plenty of options to increase theatres, run the film on your own or sell it out right.

The next big problem they tell is – very low response from the side of audience for the small films. Yes, this is a problem but it can be easily tackled with aggressive and fresh promotion techniques. All you need is some passionate support from the buyers.
